Cygnet Blog: Meet the Editor
Hi, I'm Analise and I'm in 9th grade at the Cygnet School. I am taking the social media elective on Fridays and wanted to start a school blog. Dr. Wendy asked me to use the first post to tell about myself and why I like our school. So, here is my story!
I went to elementary school at a private school in Winter Haven, Florida. Their teachers were nice and the students were also nice. But once I got into 5th grade, it got harder and harder for me to keep up. Once 7th grade started, we were doing calculus and I was getting lunch detention left, right, and center, and all because I couldn’t keep up with my math homework. Finally, my parents took me out of that school three-quarters through the 7th grade school year because the teachers didn’t know how to help me.
I did online school until summer, and when summer ended, I came to Cygnet. I was really nervous at first, but I gradually came to love Cygnet. It’s just like my home away from home. And thanks to Cygnet, I can do math much better than I could at my prior school. I can do my work at my own pace here at Cygnet and when I ask for help, I don’t get, “I can’t help you right now, figure it out yourself.” Cygnet's teachers know how to help kids with all sorts of disabilities, such as ADHD, ADD, dyslexia, autism, and Asperger's Syndrome. Cygnet has teachers specially trained in helping teach kids like me.
For the parents who might be reading this, if you have kids who need special needs and need better help than what they are currently receiving, please consider sending your children to Cygnet. Cygnet can help your children in ways other schools can’t. Cygnet has helped me achieve my goals and go above and beyond my original expectations. Cygnet, I thank you for everything you have done for me and please continue to be incredible!
