Meet our School Supporters
The Cygnet School is fortunate to have the support of several local businesses whose donations allow us to provide rich and varied experiences to our students. We are also the recipient of several grants which have allowed us to expand our gardening and beekeeping programs.
Life Garden Farm
"Farmer Alex" Ruesing of Lifegarden Farm has donated his time and expertise to The Cygnet School for several years in addition to teaching the gardening and beekeeping classes . Farmer Alex coordinates our gardening and beekeeping programs with Mrs. Susan and keeps the tools and materials in working order. Lifegarden Farm has donated many different types of plants to our school garden.
The Cygnet School is a recipient of a Garden Grant and Renewal Grants from the Whole Kids foundation. These grant funds enabled us to expand our edible garden space and our native bee/butterfly garden spaces.
We are fortunate to have been selected for a Bee Grant providing an educational beehive and curriculum materials. We now have two teaching hives at the school and the students get hands on practice in beekeeping and processing bee byproducts such as honey and beeswax.
The United Methodist Temple
The United Methodist Temple generously provides space and materials for several school events, including our yearly Trunk or Treat and Spring Fling. The UMT Men's Club also donates a portion of the profit from their annual Christmas Tree sales.
